Project Overview

As the design lead for this project, my primary goal was to enhance global brand equity for Illumina and expedite the sales funnel for the NextSeq 2000 and related offerings. Leveraging the increased traffic, we focused on elevating our brand storytelling capabilities and providing our captive audience with more profound, accessible information.

The project's scope involved utilizing existing content from data and technical specification documents to update the current NextSeq 2000 product page and create a new technical specification page. Throughout the project, I provided art direction, content design, visual design, and interaction design to ensure a seamless user experience.

Furthermore, I developed all prototypes using HTML, CSS, and JS to bring the designs to life. Working closely with the Illumina Digital Experience team, I collaborated on implementing my designs and prototypes into execution on Illumina.com, ensuring a cohesive and engaging user journey.

Scrolling Hero

The hero section of the product page underwent an impressive redesign, introducing captivating scroll-based animations to heighten impact and boost user engagement. As users scroll down the page, the NextSeq 2000 dynamically rotates and scales, unveiling two additional messages carefully crafted to maintain user interest. The final position culminates in a complete and striking reveal of the NextSeq 2000, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

I devised an engaging scroll-based interaction for the page to enhance user engagement. As users scroll down the page, they activate an enthralling video showcasing the seamless integration of the NextSeq 2000's cartridge loading process. This interactive element captivates users, immersing them in the product's key features and functionality.

This redesigned page aimed to enhance users' understanding of the NextSeq 2000's capabilities. To achieve this, we strategically incorporated additional specifications, ensuring that users can access vital technical details conveniently on the page. Moreover, we leveraged scroll-based interactions to elevate engagement and offer a seamless browsing experience. With this approach, customers can effortlessly navigate the specifications without downloading a separate PDF document, facilitating quicker comprehension and fostering a positive user journey. The user-centric design empowers researchers to make informed decisions confidently, leading to improved user satisfaction and more efficient exploration of the NextSeq 2000's potential.

I collaborated with an illustrator to craft captivating line art drawings of the NextSeq 2000 and its accessories. By skillfully infusing these illustrations into the interactive experiences on the page, we amplified the technical ambiance, creating a visually immersive and engaging journey for users. The meticulous attention to detail in the illustrations added depth and clarity to the product's features, enhancing users' understanding and fostering a sense of excitement as they explored the NextSeq 2000's capabilities.

Cartridge benefits
and how it works

I crafted a dedicated section highlighting the benefits of using the NextSeq 2000 cartridge. This section explains the workings of the cartridge, providing users with a comprehensive understanding of its functionalities and the value it brings to their sequencing endeavors.

Interaction

I enhanced this section with an engaging visual interaction demonstrating the cartridge's flow cell ejection process. As the users scroll down the page, they control the animation of the flow cell ejecting from the cartridge into the flow cell section.

P2 & P3 Reagents specifications

The NextSeq 2000 offers a variety of reagent kits, each comprising a reagent cartridge, flow cell, and resuspension buffer. Additionally, the system provides numerous flow cell configurations, allowing users to customize their output based on specific project requirements. To ensure convenient access to this valuable information, I decided to present all data in a comprehensive table that displays all available options and their respective applications, enabling users to make informed decisions swiftly and efficiently.
